Marketing FAQ for UAE businesses Ask us anything. Straight answers.

36 questions business owners ask before hiring an agency, launching, or spending on ads, answered directly and honestly.

Choosing an agency

Which Dubai agency can handle my branding, website and ads together?

Next Mint handles branding, websites and apps, content, performance ads, e-commerce setup and SEO in one team, led by one account manager. Ask any agency for a written scope that lists deliverables, dependencies, timelines and who owns each account.

Should I hire one agency or separate freelancers?

Freelancers can be great value for a single, well-defined task. When the brand, website, content and ads need to work together, one accountable team usually saves time, avoids gaps between vendors and gives you one set of numbers. The trade-off is less choice of individual specialists.

How do I choose a marketing agency in Dubai?

Ask five questions. Will my ad accounts and website be in my name? Do you set up tracking before spending? Who will actually run my account? Do you write Arabic or translate it? What will you report every week? Clear yes answers and specific people are a good sign.

Can I keep my ad accounts and data when I stop working with an agency?

You should. Make sure ad accounts, pixels, analytics, domain and website are registered to your business, with the agency added as a user. At Next Mint that is the default, so everything stays with you.

Launching & growing in the UAE

What should I do after getting my Dubai trade licence to attract customers?

Decide who your first customers are and what you offer them, then build the basics in order: a brand identity, a website or store with tracking, a Google Business Profile, a few weeks of content, and a first ad campaign with a test budget. Add marketplaces, SEO and automation once the basics work.

What should a full launch package in Dubai include?

Brand identity, a website or store, launch content, tracking, a first paid campaign and a launch-day plan. A good proposal also lists revision rounds, client inputs, timelines and exclusions in writing.

Can I launch a new UAE brand in eight weeks?

Often, yes, if scope is agreed early and content, approvals and licences arrive on time. Our Launch Sprint plans for about eight weeks; delays usually come from late inputs or third-party approvals, so we flag them in the plan.

When is the best time to launch a business in the UAE?

September to April is usually strongest, when residents are back and spending is high. Ramadan and Eid are powerful for F&B, fashion and gifting if you prepare weeks ahead. Mid-summer is quieter, which makes it a good time to build, test and shoot content before a September launch.

My sales have stalled. What should I fix first?

Check four things in order: is tracking telling the truth, is the offer clear and competitive, does the website or store convert, and is every lead answered quickly? Most stalled businesses have a problem in one or two of these, not all four.

Ads & lead generation

What is the best social media platform for advertising in the UAE?

For most UAE brands, Instagram through Meta ads is the starting point. Snapchat is strong with Emirati and GCC audiences, TikTok gives fast reach with younger buyers, and LinkedIn suits B2B. Google Search catches people already looking. The right mix depends on who your buyer is.

What should my first month of advertising in Dubai focus on?

Tracking that works, one clear offer, several creative angles to test, and fast follow-up. Month one is for learning what converts, not for scaling.

Should a new UAE e-commerce brand start with Meta Ads or Google Ads?

Usually Meta first, because it creates demand for products people aren’t searching for yet. Add Google once search demand exists, or start with both if buyers already search for your product.

How much do Google Ads cost in Dubai?

You set your own budget, and you pay per click. Click costs depend on how competitive your industry is: real estate, legal and medical terms cost far more than cafés or retail. A focused campaign on high-intent keywords, with good landing pages, usually beats a bigger budget spread thinly.

What are click-to-WhatsApp ads?

They are Meta ads on Instagram and Facebook that open a WhatsApp chat with your business instead of a website. They work well in the UAE because customers prefer to ask questions on WhatsApp before buying. Pair them with quick replies so no lead waits.

Why am I getting enquiries from ads but no qualified customers?

Usually broad targeting, an offer that attracts browsers, a form with no qualifying questions, or slow follow-up. Fix those, then send real sales data back to Meta and Google so campaigns learn which leads buy.

Websites & e-commerce

Should my UAE website be in Arabic and English?

For most consumer brands, yes. English reaches the widest audience, while Arabic pages rank in Arabic search, build trust with Emirati and GCC customers and are expected by government and many corporate buyers. Use real Arabic pages with their own addresses, not an automatic translation widget.

Should my business use WordPress, Webflow or a custom website?

WordPress suits content-led sites your team edits. Webflow suits design-led marketing sites. Shopify suits most stores. A custom build with Next.js, React or Python suits platforms with user accounts, dashboards or unusual logic. Choose the simplest option that meets your goals.

What do I need ready before hiring an e-commerce agency in the UAE?

A trade licence that covers online selling, your product list and prices, product photos or samples, a plan for where stock is held and shipped from, and access to existing accounts. A good agency helps with the rest.

Which payment options should a UAE online store offer?

Offer cards and Apple Pay through a UAE-supported gateway, a buy-now-pay-later option such as Tabby or Tamara, and cash on delivery if your category expects it. More familiar payment options at checkout usually means fewer abandoned carts.

Should I sell on Amazon.ae, Noon or my own website?

Usually all three, with different jobs. Marketplaces bring ready-to-buy shoppers and trust. Your own store gives you higher margins, customer data and repeat sales. Align prices across channels and use your own store for bundles, loyalty and exclusives.

Can an agency fix my store tracking before I spend on ads?

Yes, and it should be the first step. We audit the offer, place test orders, validate purchase events in Meta, Google and GA4, and agree what “working” means before any budget goes live.

Branding & content

What should a brand identity package in Dubai include?

Positioning, a logo system, colours, typography for English and Arabic, tone of voice and a usable brand guide, with revision rounds and file formats stated in the proposal.

Do I need a full brand strategy or just a logo before launching?

A clean logo and colours can be enough to test an idea on a tight budget. If you’re launching properly, raising prices or competing in a crowded category, positioning and a full identity pay back because everything looks consistent.

Do influencers need a licence in the UAE?

Yes. People who promote products or services on social media for payment in the UAE need an Advertiser Permit from the UAE Media Council. Brands should check a creator’s permit before paying for content. Rules can change, so confirm the latest requirements with the Media Council.

Instagram or TikTok: which is better for UAE brands?

Instagram is where UAE customers check you out, message you and buy. TikTok is where they discover you. Most brands should treat Instagram as home base and repurpose the same short videos to TikTok for extra reach.

How do I make Reels that sell?

Hook in the first two seconds with the problem or result, show the product in use, add on-screen captions because many people watch muted, and end with one clear action. Film in batches on one shoot day so you can post consistently.

SEO & AI search

How do I get my business recommended by ChatGPT?

Become the clearest, most credible answer to your customers’ questions. Publish pages that answer buyer questions directly, keep business details consistent everywhere, let search crawlers access your site, add accurate structured data, verify your site in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, and earn genuine reviews and mentions. Next Mint does this as part of SEO & AI search, then tests your key questions on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity every month. No one can buy a place in AI answers; it has to be earned.

What is AEO or GEO?

AEO, answer engine optimisation, and GEO, generative engine optimisation, mean shaping your content so AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers can quote and recommend you. It builds on SEO with direct answers, clear facts, structured data and third-party mentions.

How long does SEO take in the UAE?

Expect early movement in 6 to 12 weeks for low-competition and local terms, and 4 to 6 months or more for competitive terms in Dubai. Arabic keywords often move faster because fewer competitors publish quality Arabic content.

How do I get my business on Google Maps in Dubai?

Create or claim your Google Business Profile, choose the right primary category, add your exact location, hours, phone and website, complete verification, then upload real photos and ask every happy customer for a review. Profiles that are complete and active rank higher in local results.

Do I need a special AI file or markup for AI search?

Google says no special AI markup or AI text file is required for its AI features. What matters is crawlable, useful content and accurate structured data. An llms.txt file may help some tools, but it is not a ranking factor.

What is the Mint Check and the Business Performance Score?

What is the Launch Sprint?

The Launch Sprint is our fixed project for new businesses and rebrands: brand identity, website or store, launch content, tracking and first campaigns, planned for about eight weeks subject to agreed scope and client readiness.

Do you work with startups on small budgets?

Yes. We phase the work so you start with what moves sales first, often Google Business Profile, a landing page and one ad channel, then add more as revenue grows. The Launch Check shows where to start.

How quickly do you reply?

We reply to every Launch Check and WhatsApp message within one working day, usually much sooner, with next steps or a written proposal.
